The manipulation of sports competetions poses a serious threat to the integrity of sport and demage the image of sport as a whole. The fight against match-fixing requires close cooperation between sports movements, betting operators, Olympic Committees, law enforcement authorities and international organisations. 

The aim of this section is to give a voice to the most important events and positive examples of cooperation between bodies responsible for sport to fight against match fixing. 

Italy

“Tackling Corruption in Sport” event, organized in collaboration with CONI, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italian Office for Sport of the Council of Ministers and ANAC follows the adoption of the Resolution 7/8 on Corruption in Sport, by the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) at its seventh session, held in Vienna from 6 to 10 November 2017. The event represents the possibility to discuss about an operative agenda to implement the UNCAC Resolution with the most important stakeholders active in the fight against corruption in sport with particular attention to: protected reporting systems, manipulation of tenders and infiltration of organized crime in the sports market.
